Vertical home wind turbines typically consist of a tower, a rotor, a generator, and a controller. The tower provides an elevated foundation for the turbine, as well as a means to raise the generator and controller into the wind. The rotor is the most important part of the turbine, as this is what actually captures the wind energy and converts it into rotational energy.
